Trump Account $250 / $1,000 Deposit Eligibility Checker for Residents of Riverside

Find out whether your child may qualify for the $1,000 federal Trump Account pilot contribution or the $250 Michael and Susan Dell contribution. Answer three quick questions below. Nothing you enter is collected, sent or stored — the check runs entirely in your browser.

Trump Accounts are investment accounts for children who are under 18 at the end of the year the account election is made — for 2026, that generally means a child born in 2009 or later. Some children can also receive starter money they never have to pay back: a one-time $1,000 federal pilot contribution for certain children born from 2025 through 2028, and a $250 contribution from Michael and Susan Dell for certain children born from 2016 through 2024 in qualifying ZIP codes.

Overview

What Are Trump Accounts?

Trump Accounts are child investment accounts created to help children start building long-term savings early in life. Parents, guardians, and other authorized individuals may be able to open an account for an eligible child, and the funds are intended to grow over time through investments.

  • Trump Accounts are generally for children who are under 18 at the end of the year the election is made and who have a valid Social Security number.
  • Some U.S. citizen children born from 2025 through 2028 may qualify for a one-time $1,000 federal pilot contribution.
  • Families and others may be able to contribute to the account.
  • Some private donors and charities may also make contributions for qualifying groups of children.
  • Funds are generally restricted until the child reaches adulthood.
  • Investment returns are not guaranteed.

Official details: IRS Trump Accounts page and the IRS Form 4547 instructions.

It does not depend on your ZIP code or your income.

What If My Child Does Not Qualify For Free Money Right Now

Even if your child does not appear to qualify for the $1,000 federal pilot contribution or the $250 Dell contribution, you may still be able to open a Trump Account if your child otherwise meets the basic eligibility requirements. Families may contribute to the account, and future donors, charities, employers, or government programs may decide to contribute to accounts for certain groups of children later.

FAQ

Trump Account FAQs

What is a Trump Account?

A Trump Account is a new type of investment account for a child who is under 18 at the end of the year the account election is made and who has a valid Social Security number. It is designed to help families start long-term savings early, and the funds are generally restricted until the child reaches adulthood.

Does every child get the $1,000 federal contribution?

No. The $1,000 federal pilot contribution generally applies to U.S. citizen children born from 2025 through 2028 who have a valid Social Security number, once the required election and account setup are completed. Children born before 2025 are not part of the federal pilot.

Does every child get the $250 Dell contribution?

No. Invest America states that the $250 Michael and Susan Dell contribution applies to children born from 2016 through 2024 with a valid Social Security number who live in a ZIP code whose median family income is $150,000 or less, based on 2020-2024 American Community Survey 5-year data. It is limited to the first 25 million activated accounts and only while funds remain available.

Can a child receive both the $1,000 and the $250?

No. The two programs cover different birth years. The federal pilot covers births from 2025 through 2028, while the Dell contribution covers births from 2016 through 2024, so a child falls into at most one of them.

Which ZIP codes does this checker include?

This checker covers residential Riverside ZIP codes that have published Census median family income data: 92501, 92503, 92504, 92505, 92506, 92507, 92508, 92509 and 92518. Post office box and administrative ZIP codes have no published data, so the tool reports the Dell result as unknown for them and links to the official donor checker rather than guessing.

Does 92508 qualify for the Dell contribution?

Based on the 2020-2024 American Community Survey, median family income in 92508 is about $155,027, which is above the $150,000 threshold Invest America uses. On that data 92508 does not appear to meet the Dell ZIP code test. Confirm your own ZIP code on the official donor checker before relying on this.

Can I still open a Trump Account if my child does not qualify for free starter money?

Generally yes, if your child otherwise meets the basic requirements. Families may contribute to the account, and future donors, charities, employers, or government programs may add contributions for certain groups of children later.

Can grandparents or other family members contribute?

Yes, contributions from family members and others are generally permitted within program rules. An authorized individual, such as a legal guardian, parent, adult sibling, or grandparent, must make the election to open the account and serve as custodian.

Are Trump Account investment returns guaranteed?

No. Trump Accounts are investment accounts, and investment returns are never guaranteed. The value of the account can go up or down over time.

Can Riverside CPA & Tax help me open a Trump Account?

Riverside CPA & Tax can help you understand the tax and financial planning considerations around Trump Accounts. The actual account-opening process must be completed through the official Trump Account/IRS process.

Is this tool tax advice?

No. This checker provides a general estimate for informational purposes only, and nothing you type is collected or stored. Final eligibility is determined by the U.S. Treasury, the IRS and the donor program, not by this tool or by our firm. For guidance on your situation, request a consultation.

How to Open a Trump Account

The account election itself must be made by an authorized individual — in priority order, a legal guardian, parent, adult sibling, or grandparent — who serves as custodian during the custodial period. That priority order applies to the account-only election. Requesting the $1,000 federal pilot contribution instead follows the anticipated qualifying child rule described in the IRS Form 4547 instructions, where the person who expects to claim the child as a qualifying child makes the request. The account must generally be opened by December 31 of the year before the child turns 18.

Start with the official IRS Trump Accounts page, review the Form 4547 instructions, and watch Logan's step-by-step walkthrough above.

Riverside ZIP Code Data and Coverage

The Dell ZIP code test uses median family income — not household income. The figures below come from the U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 5-year estimates, table B19113, 2020-2024 release, in 2024 inflation-adjusted dollars. Retrieved September 15, 2026.

Riverside ZIP codes such as 92502, 92513, 92514, 92516, 92517, 92519 and 92522 are post office box or administrative ZIP codes with no ZIP Code Tabulation Area income data, and 92521 (the UCR campus) has no published estimate. For those the tool reports the Dell result as unknown and links to the donor checker — it never reports them as ineligible. The federal pilot result never depends on ZIP coverage.

Estimates carry a margin of error; 92518 in particular has a wide margin because of its small population. Verify your own ZIP code on the official Invest America / Dell checker and view the underlying data on data.census.gov table B19113.
