Enrolled Agent
Federally licensed. Tax-only focus.
A federally licensed tax professional with unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS.
What Is an Enrolled Agent?
An enrolled agent (EA) is a tax practitioner licensed directly by the federal government. Enrolled agents hold unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS, meaning they may act on a taxpayer’s behalf on any type of tax matter, before any IRS office, regardless of who prepared the return in question.
Certified public accountants and attorneys hold that same unlimited right of representation. Riverside CPA & Tax was founded by Logan Allec, a California-licensed CPA, and that CPA license itself carries unlimited rights of representation before the IRS — so examinations, notices, collection matters, and appeals can be handled for you directly.
Licensed by the U.S. Treasury
The enrolled agent credential is issued by the federal government rather than by an individual state, so it is recognized in every state and is not limited by where a taxpayer lives or files.
Rigorous Qualification
Candidates pass the three-part Special Enrollment Examination covering individuals, businesses, and representation, practice, and procedures, then complete continuing education every year and meet the IRS suitability requirements to keep the credential active.
Tax-Only Specialists
Unlike credentials that span audit, assurance, or advisory work, the enrolled agent designation is focused entirely on taxation and on representing taxpayers before the IRS.
