CPA and Tax Services for Moreno Valley, CA

Riverside CPA & Tax works with Moreno Valley households and business owners entirely remotely — secure document exchange, phone calls and video meetings, on a schedule that fits around shift work and long commutes. The firm was founded by Logan Allec, CPA, who grew up in Riverside, so the tax questions that come with living and working in this part of Riverside County are familiar territory rather than something to explain from scratch.

Moreno Valley questions we hear often

Do I have to come to an office to work with you?

No. Riverside CPA & Tax operates virtually. You send documents through a secure portal, we discuss your situation by phone or video, and returns are signed electronically. There is no office to visit and no reason to take time off work for an appointment.

Which county is Moreno Valley in, and does that affect my taxes?

Moreno Valley is in Riverside County. County of residence does not change your federal or California income tax rates, but it does determine which county assessor handles your property assessment and where county-level filings such as a fictitious business name statement are recorded — which matters if you run a business under a name other than your own.

I drive for a delivery or rideshare platform. What do I need to keep?

Contemporaneous mileage records are the single most valuable thing. Beyond that: platform earnings summaries, vehicle expenses if you use the actual cost method, phone and supply costs, and records of any estimated tax payments. Self-employment tax is often the surprise, so we look at quarterly payments as well as the return itself.

I work in Moreno Valley but my spouse works outside California. How does that get filed?

California taxes residents on all income regardless of where it is earned, and generally offers a credit for tax paid to another state on the same income. Community property rules can also affect how income is split on separate returns. It is a common situation and it is handled at the return level once we see the actual facts.

Can you help with a business I run from my Moreno Valley home?

Yes. That usually involves entity questions, the home office deduction where it genuinely applies, bookkeeping, and the City of Moreno Valley business licensing requirement that applies to home-based businesses as well as storefronts. We handle the tax and accounting side and tell you plainly where a different professional is needed.

What does the first conversation cover?

Your situation, what you are currently filing, anything outstanding, and what you actually want from a CPA. You leave knowing what would be involved and what it would cost. Requesting a consultation does not create a client relationship.
